Dear Reader,
I hope you’ll enjoy reading Beyond Betrayal. You’ll see yourself, your friends, family, and coworkers in the characters. You’ll laugh. You’ll recognize your victories and defeats in theirs. And you’ll make new discoveries and travel to places of hope. It’s a fun story. And I hope you’ll want to know where the characters’ choices lead them, because Beyond Betrayal is the first in a series of novels about your friend and mine, Maria Beaumont.

We meet Maria Beaumont in August. Just a year out of grad school (art history), Maria designs exhibits at a county museum outside Chicago and scrimps and saves to tour Europe—her dream at the beginning of the story. Also at the beginning of Beyond Betrayal, Maria experiences a major betrayal at the hands of her insensitive boyfriend Travis. And, as if that’s not enough, her boss hands her mission impossible: to design a Victorian Christmas exhibit by Christmas.

While Maria faces these challenges, her best friend, the outspoken fashionista Carly, involves Maria in her life. You’ll also meet Maria’s brother Jack, his girlfriend Amy, Mr. and Mrs. Beaumont, the whole motley crew at the museum, and others. Oh, how could I forget? While Maria is still smarting from Travis’s betrayal, she discovers two other romantic potentials: Bill and Leo. Hope you like surprises.

I’d love to hear your comments about Beyond Betrayal. It’s a story about the little choices we make that shape our lives. It’s a story about the questions we ask of the voices we hear. It’s a story about self-discovery and friendship, about twentysomethings and their dreams. Just click HERE to tell me what you think.

Enjoy!

P.S. Beyond Betrayal is the thinking woman's romance!
